After our Occupy Pop-Up shop in William Street, Northbridge, Creative Labs approached us for collaboration to fill the walls of their new heritage listed building on the park of Weld Square.
We of course, said yes.
Together, we have now hung over 100 artworks of local artists throughout The Alchemist (the ground floor café), the multiple music lesson rooms and throughout the hallways which lead to the upstairs function room and to the studio of DJ school LABSIX.
The idea, based on our previous Occupy Pop Up concept, provides a space for artists to submit their artworks free of charge, inviting a diverse range of creative people to pull their artworks out of storage, dust them off and drop them into Creative Labs.
Artworks sold are removed immediately and handed to the new owner. At the end of each month artists are notified of any sales and requested invoices for their commission.
As the collection has grown, we have secured further exhibition opportunities with our collection by including artworks in the Midlandia Festival and opening more gallery spaces, such as the new collaboration with JumpClimb.
